GS shut down problem

We were riding and Al's 1150 gs just quit while he was riding. When he tried to restart, it wouldn't even turn over but all lights etc work. So it's not battery or killswitch. He thinks its electrical. We plan to take it to Moto ace tomorrow but I wanted to see if any of you have any ideas.

I would look at the side stand switch before looking at the Hall sensor. Give Terry Ware a call as he would probably have a good idea to the problem.

Could be the HES or the neutral switch. It could also be a bad ground or a relay problem. Electrical gremlins are fun to find.

Thanks guys for your thoughts. I was thinking the kick stand switch too. Anyway I took to Kenny and Roger at Moto Ace this morning. Will let you know what it is.

I had that happen several years ago with a rental RT in Arizona due to the side stand not making good contact with the safety switch. I was in the middle of nowhere on hwy 191 on the eastern border of AZ when it quit. I zip tied the side stand up and was able to ride the bike on to our destination for that night where the rental company brought me another bike.

Turns out it was the start/stop switch gone bad. Glad it was something easy. But still gonna be expensive.
