Yesterday evening, on my way home from work, I noticed that I had lost both my high-beam, as well as my turn-signal-cancel. One would not think that they are connected issues, but both occurred together. ... I am on my way to an auto-parts place for a new bulb. ... However, in the interim, has anyone ever had these issues together, or know of this happening, or have any suggestions on getting the turn-signal-cancel to work again?

I went an looked at my fuses, and they all seem intact. I also took out relays, and inspected them. I intentionally flip-flopped like-numbered relays, and like amperage fuses to see if my high-beams returned. They didn't.... But when I went to crank up the bike to ride to work, it cranked, and stalled, and then while turning over, would not re-fire. Upon further investigation, I do not hear the fuel pump spool-up when I turn on the ignition. ... Any helpful advice would be appreciated.

Status Report ...
I drained and pulled the tank, and checked for voltage at the fuel pump electrical plug, and it had 12v. when connected to two of the three connections (not sure yet what the third wire's function is) ... I then pulled the fuel pump/filter assembly, and put 12v. to the plug, and the pump spun right up. While the pump was out, I put in a new filter. I then plugged up the pump assembly to the bike (outside of the fuel-tank), and turned the key on, and "no go." ... I then began to swap out fuses one-by-one with my gf's '04 R1150R "Roadster" and behold, after one of the middle fuses was replaced, the pump powered up. ... Even though I had looked before, and I now looked again, I was unable to detect a visible break in the fuse, but when I connected my multi-meter to it, there was no continuity. I replaced that fuse, and then put the pump/filter assembly back into the tank, - refilled the tank with fuel, - remounted the tank and reconnected all the lines, and the bike runs again. I also checked the turn signal cancel, and it is working again (at least while the bike is stationary in the garage), however, the high-beam still does not work, - it just stays on low-beam regardless of the switch setting. ... Hopefully I will be able to ride it to Lake Guntersville this weekend, - but if not, I consider myself the luckiest guy in our club to have a gf that has not one, BUT TWO motorcycles of her own!

glad you got it sorted out Rodger. Sometimes those you just have to start eliminating what it is not until you find the right thing. the positive thing is that with every one of these type issues you are gaining valuable experience going forward...I know you would rather not have to get he experience in the first place! Glad you are back on the road!Current Bikes
