We found out yesterday that our youngest daughter Krista was accepted into the Amry Nurse Corps Candidate program. She is a junior at UAB in her first year of nursing school and will finish her degree there, then she will be off to Fort Sam Houston for her Officer Basic Course and learn how to be a nurse in the Army. It incurs a 5 year comittment after graduation. She is all excited about it and so are we!!

We looked into all of that and really hoped for the Air Force, but they do not have the same program. She did not want any ROTC type class while in nursing school, or any weekend drill. This program has no committment until graduation so she can just be a regular college kid. The Navy has the same deal but she chose Army.Comment

She is about to start the adventure of her life. A friend of ours (wife and I) was over the Nursing School at UAB. (about 25 years ago). She up and joined the USAF. Last I heard of her was that she was a Colonel in the USAF stationed in England.Comment
