Looking forward to seeing you there. Phillip, Martha and I are heading that way Thursday morning and should arrive at the campground around 4:30 ish. Our route is through St. Francisville crossing the Mississippi on the ferry to New Roads.

I was thinking the same crossing....I wanted to go into NORWOOD, LA enroute as well.

Got Dr. appt on Thursday (eye) so leaving from his office and heading down, most likely spend the night in S. MS somewhere and then come on in on Friday AM.

If you see a place with two trees nearby...I will hang my hammock again!

Never been to the site, but from the pictures...looks like some trees in campground...

Don & Bob, you might want to check to see if the ferry in St. Francisville will be in operation. It is taken out of service frequently and the Miss. river has been on the rise and the ferry landing may be under water and the rerry not operating. You could probably check on the DOTD web site to be sure. As of now I don't think Wanda and I are going to the rally. I will probably be going up to my hunting camp near Angola, just north-west of St. Francisville. I'll probably leave Thursday or Friday and be there for the weekend. Have a good time at the rally.

Glad you are going to Swamp Scooters Don. I have not been to the new location, but their ad states that they are in the trees.

I talked to Murph this morning and he will be there Thursday afternoon. He is coming in his motor-home and trailering his GS.

I went on line and found a current update saying the ferry is open after being closed in October for dredging of the river bottom operations. The St. Francisville to New Roads schedule is on the hour and 1/2 hour.

Gator, Fletcher told me today that the Mississipppi River is at the highest level in years and the ferry crossing offers some great riding and old plantation homes in the area... I wanted to stop in Norwood, La. in my quest to make all the Norwood townships in USA and Canada...

Bob, got a note from Mike via Facebook that he had a RV space for Thursday -Sunday...

Got my GSA out of the shop today..I had carried it to Bloodworth, so I picked it up today...in the rain, rain, rain....but had to trailer it...so wasn't so bad...glad to get it back and fixed without issue and under warranty...on the recall.

Hoping I can get my Eye appointment re-scheduled and can get away early on Thursday... I am in Guin...so will head down 82 to Starkville then 25 to Jackson...may either hop on 55 for a while or may pick another back road...but aiming for the ferry site...

Don, there are several old plantation homes in St. Francisville. Rosedown is on La. hwy 10 at the intersection of US 61. Just north of there on US 61 is Butler-Greenwood and The Myrtles, which is supposed to be haunted. East of St. Francisville on La. 10 in Jackson, La. there is a good eatery there. I believe it's called Bear Corner or something like that. There is also an old railroad museum there. In St. Francisville in the old part of town on highway 10 are antique shops and restored homes. You'll also pass Grace Episcople Church. Also a couple of good eateries in the old part of town. If you're passing through on Friday give me a call on my cell phone. I may be in the area on the way to my hunting camp. My cell number is in the membership directory.

Thanks Don. Mike called this morning saying he is going and I am looking forward to seeing him.
