If the basis for the Amendment is because someone - not a member - exhibited rude and inconsiderate behavior, my analytical mind then says well, I know a couple of BMW members who have exhibited rude and inconsiderate behavior. Should they be kicked out? This just doesn't seem logical. If someone invites a non-member, the member is responsible for the guest. From what I understand, we haven't had a problem with anyone who is currently an FOB and I don't see the benefit to the club in excluding them now.

Amendment to Amendment #1
After many e-mails, phone calls and Forum postings from Club Members expressing their views and thoughts about these amendments, below is the Amendment to Amendment #1 that will be presented by motion at the Annual Meeting to replace the language of Amendment #1 printed in the Club’s Newsletter before the vote is taken. Copies will be passed out at the meeting. The first two sentences below is the new language grandfathering in the present Friends of Beemers which was inadvertently omitted from the original Amendment #1 and is being corrected. Also since there is no liability waiver presently in place, that language has been deleted including Paragraph #8. Amendment #2 will be voted on as written in the Newsletter.
BY-LAW AMENDMENT #1, AS AMENDED
7. As of February 1, 2010 the Friends of Beemers (FOB) sponsorship is rescinded, and present FOB active members are grandfathered in with the same privileges except may not hold office or participate in voting issues. The rules and dues will be the same as the By-Laws dictate. After February 1, 2010, new and existing primary members will be the owners of a BMW motorcycle and may invite guests to participate in Club functions, rides, rallies, etc. The inviting member must be present at the event. The behavior of any guest is the responsibility of the inviting member.
This Amendment to Amendment #1 will be presented to clarify and resolve any confusion the original amendment may have caused.Martha Warren

I hain't been following this discussion at all. As a matter of fact it has been so long since I logged on to this site that I forgot my username for a minute. Then today I received an email asking if I had been following this thread.
I know the sender just wanted to fire my meek manner up so her goes.
Will be be okay if I ride my KLR to the January meeting?
One more comment: I'll bet ol' Greg Feeler is tickled to death to receive all the votes on this issue as the president of the BMWMOA. Vance check your first post on this thread. That's where you told us to send our votes. Told you I read the entire thread.

Hey Jimmy.
Two thumb texting for 45 minutes at 2:45 am just may have something to do with making you say " oh geesh"

Of course not. I'm saying that we shouldn't eliminate FOBs because of one incident. Anybody can be an a*hole wether they own a BMW or not and should be eliminated from the club if need be.Originally posted by jdubeemer View PostJimmy, Are you saying that the "BAD" people are the ones voting "yes" to amendment #1?
Would y'all rather have 1 dejected FOB or a 100 positive heralds for our club?Jimmy
