  • Blue Ridge MC Campground closes kitchen for the 2010 season

Here is the notice from Phillip, Leslie and J Johnson:

    IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR CAMPERS
We are aware that many of you, just like us, have been impacted by the recent years economic struggle. In an effort to maintain our current low costs for camping we have made a difficult decision to not open the kitchen this season. Instead, we plan to offer a lower cost alternative for providing meals at the campground. Charcoal grills will be provided for your use, with staple grocery items for sale in the camp store. As always, there will be ice available and coolers for rent. We plan to have coffee and sausage biscuits for breakfast in the store every morning and have pizzas for Friday night check-in. We still plan to hold our three annual BBQ’s on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day. If your group would like to have a catered dinner at the campground please let us know and we can make the arrangements for you. We are very optimistic that our economy is on the upswing and we plan to re-open the kitchen next season and offer our full menu. Thank you for your support in these efforts to continue to provide you, our fellow bikers, with the most beautiful camping experience in the Blue Ridge.

A mudbug boil, now that is a good idea

Kathy and I stayed at BRMC last night after returning from our friend Joy's funeral in Monroe NC. J was there and waited for our late 9:45 PM arrival. We talked about our meeting in June and he told me that Phillip and Leslie are working on something for us. I got the understanding from J that this is temporary, and that next year they will return to full service. I think their solution of having Pizza and breakfast biscuits will work OK. The Juke Box Junction has a pretty good breakfast, but I think they are not open on Sundays.

We got up fairly early this morning and coffee was ready in the game room, and there was a honeybun in the vending machine.

Some people. You can lead them to the water but.......

I am sure it was a senior moment Bob.
