There have been some recent changes to the newsletter concerning staff, production and mailing that I wanted to inform the members about.
Effective today Jamie Jackson will assume the responsibility of the newsletter editing and production. first I want to thank Joan ware for her hard work and dedication to this time consuming task. Joan is as most of you know tasked with helping Terry operate Terry's Two Wheel Tire & Tune that keeps us all running! This is a full time small business that requires more time and attention than most days allow so the additional job of newsletter editor turned out to be more than she could fit into the schedule. But Joan, please accept our sincere thanks for all your hard work on it for us!
Content continues to be an ongoing issue. I would ask each of you to consider writing an article of BMW motorcycling interest and submitting it to Jamie. If you are not comfortable with "penning" an article, maybe you have an idea for an article. A piece of information concerning trips, gear, events, safety, old pictures (or new ones) or anything else that would be of interest to the group. Let Jamie hear from you. He will be glad to help you discover that you to can contribute! Thank You to Jamie for stepping in to help with this important part of our club!!
Jack and Susan Goertz have offered to pick up the newsletters from the printer and mail them for us. For those of you not familiar with processing bulk mail it is a complicated, trying and time consuming process. Fortunately Jack and Susan have the software and the knowledge to process and mail for us and are also allowing us to utilize their bulk rate postage permit. That has saved us some money that offsets the additional cost for the printer to fold and tab them for us. Let me say thanks to Jack and Susan from all of us for helping us out!
We have had less than 12 people respond to the offer to drop the printed newsletter and opt for an electronic version. The mailing list has been updated to remove these few names. The current and many archived versions of the newsletter are always available online...and the pictures are in color too!
Of course Steve Schuckman is to be commended for uploading not only the newsletters but the total upkeep and maintenance of our website. This too is another job that runs continuosly in the background...and just works. Well we all owe Steve a big thank you for handling this job for us and makiing it look so easy. We all know it is not! thank you Steve!
Well, that is the update on the newsletter. all these changes will be effective with the August edition. Again, will YOU please give consideration to making a written contribution to your club newsletter. All these people have voluntered a great deal of time to make sure it hits your mailbox!
