    Tomorrow Mexico
Our trip is underway and tomorrow we plan to cross into Mexico. Say a prayer for Mexico because two of the DixieOutlawS best is on the way. Yesterday was a 427 mile day for me and today was 568 miles. That's a long way on a KLR. Spending the night at Navay Air Station - Corpus Christi.

    Later,

    Honduras

Crossed into Honduras today. Surprisingly easy border crossing. Last two days were a bear considering we were on roads that make Waterloo and Dalton Hwy look like a cakewalk. Too heavy of a bike to be doing off-roading.
See blog for details. We both agree we like Guatemala.

      Where is the "Outlaw"?

Has anyone heard from Gary since he got to Tierra del Fuego ? He has not posted on his blog since then.

          all is okay

Thanks guys for the concern. All is okay. I intend to catch up the blog tomorrow. The three days after TDF I rode over 500 miles each day in a most hellish wind and was just to bushed to do any blogging. Then Friday I arrived in Viedma for the Horizonsunlimited meeting and the Wifi connection was down at the hotel.
Today I am in Azul (another 430 mile day) which is 180 miles from Buenos Aires. I will stay here 4 days since I can't do anything in BA until Friday and then Monday I pack out the bike and hopefully fly Tue. or Wed evening.
BTW the little KLR has done great. Total unscheduled maint. Replaced the headlight fuse 3 times and replace the drive chain. Have lost 1 screw. Yeah, I know I am missing several myself or I wouldn't be down here.

I talked to Gary this afternoon and he is doing great considering what he has accomplished. His friend became very ill about the time they arrived in Buenos Aires and could not continue the trip to the end of the road. They agreed that he would return home and Gary would continue the 2,000 mile run to Tierra Del Fuego (Spanish for Land of Fire) which he accomplished while riding in near impossible winds and road conditions there and back. He now is staying in a comfortable hotel about 200 miles south of Buenos Aires and will be there for four days before returning to Buenos Aires to make arrangements to ship his bike and book a flight home to be there in time for Christmas.

What Gary has accomplished it truly amazing and I am anxious to see all of his photos and hear him tell us all about his unbelievable journey.

                  Back in Alabama

                  Thanks Phillip.
Arrived in Huntsville yesterday at 10:00 a.m. Two good flights from Buenos Aires - 15 hrs total. Angie, April (our daughter), Van and Thea (grandchildren) surprised me with a big airport welcome - signs, photos, the whole works.
Motorcycle is suppose to depart Bs. Aires today for Atlanta.
As a whole the trip went well - no crashes, no big maintenance issues, spent a lot of money, took lots of photos, made a lot of new friends (the best part.)
The little KLR did great - total unexpected maintenance issues were three blown fuses for then headlight, not bad for 15,000 miles of riding in all types of conditions.
A big thanks to all of our BMW family for following and providing comments on this forum and on our blog. Hope to see all of you soon in the new year.
May each off you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas - I certainly will.

Gary, enjoyed every word and mile of your adventure, the blog was great!
Passed the link to another forum and got some friends that made a similar trip a few years back and they all said it brought back some great memories.

Good to hear your home in time for Christmas...looking forward to seeing some more pictures and ride tales.

Merry Christmas and a happy riding New Year!
