Cycle Event listings-IMPORTANT

Someone listed our rally on the Cycle Fish.com website.
I have had it removed, and have done this as the current Rally Chair.

Let me explain why.

Our event is as large as we can handle already. It is well advertised in the BMW magazines, which is our target attendee.

If we advertise it on various websites like Cyclefish, I am afraid it will bring more folks than we can handle. Also, our rally ad states (as per the vote of the rally committee last year) "BMW riders and their Guests".

Now we do not, nor will we, turn away other types of bike riders, but we surely do not need any extra advertising outside the BMW magazines.

NOT ONLY THAT BUT WHOMEVER POSTED THIS HAD OLD INFORMATION AND MUCH OF IT WAS INCORRECT !!
If ANYONE sends out, posts, or tells, anyone about our rally, please be sure to check with myself, your President, or other current Officer to check your facts before you send anything out. The ad "whomever" posted, still had $40 rally fee, and old info on music, meals, etc.
This could make for a lot of trouble in explanations, mail backs of forms with the wrong fee amounts, etc etc etc

Rally ? What rally ? No, seriously, what rally ?

I'm new here and would like to point something out. As on most boards long time members get on and communicate rides, rallys, get-togethers without mentioning a thing about where such mets or rides are to be held. It's very common on boards; people get to know each other and start assuming everyone knows what they're talking about.

Just an observation.

If you go to the web site home page and look under Great Chicken Rally 2011 you can get all the info you will need.

You can also access any of the other forum areas and meetings,rides etc.

Hey Eagle Eye Connie. Thanks for noticing the ad and pulling it for the reasons mentioned.

Ric, I'll wager the Great Chicken Rally is like none other you have visitited. Check the website to see how many pounds of chicken, taters, beans, slaw, pancakes, cookies etc we prepare for Rally attendees' breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also notice the number of gallons of coffee, tea and lemonade.

One of the most fun things Alabeemers do is to volunteer to help in the kitchen. One of the benefits is free beer .

I'm one of the ring leaders of Kawasaki Triples Worldwide 2-Strokes and we have our annual Deal's Gap meet May 22 - 29, 2011.

Too bad.... I wanted to start meeting some of the BMW folks. But the 2-stroke rally is a really big deal, it's our 11th year. We get about 90 people bringing over 100 2-stroke road bikes. We fill up the whole Deals Gap Resort and many of the rooms nearby.

If anyone can make it early in the week or when ever that week, you're certainly welcome. We don't charge anything and everyone is welcome no matter what you drive.
