John Harper asked me to put these up here.
We were remembering some of those who've passed.
The Three Rally Rats is what I called them when I took the picture.

    Thank you Connie

Your Dad was a remarkable man, called "Magiver" as a nickname ,he could patch up a BMW as only a "Depression Era" person could. I can still see him rolling his own cigarets as he studied how to fix up a dead in the water BMW
bike, with little or no cash. Connie how many women in this BMW community can say their best BMW friend was their own Father ?

Carson, your Dad to those who did not know him, really missed out. Iam trully Blessed to have known him, along with Russ and Ole Crow.

Remember the past so we can define the future.

Thank you younger members, we need you to keep this ole club alive.

      I've definitely been blessed.
And life has been more difficult without "McGyver", my best friend.
At least my other best friend "Mom", Polly to you all.
I sure do miss Russ and Harold too. They were also a couple of the greatest Characters in the history of the club.
Harold in his 70's towing that trailer at top speed passing everyone. Used to wonder if he had some kind of force field keeping him from harm !! Whoo hoo !

If you remember the time that Russ was driven to the Rally in his sidecar I am wondering if the pictures posted were that day. I met the man that drove him there in the hack this week. He is a doctor in Huntsville. He got excited when he found out that I knew Russ and Marty.

          Jim

I donot remember the Doctors name I am sure Marty does. He was Russ,s
heart Doctor. When he met Russ , his world changed. Russ told this Heart Doctor how riding a BMW motorcycle could improve your blood pressure, thus heart condition. The good Heart Doctor was won over by Russ.

Russ sold the Doctor the K 1200 LT with Hanniagn sidecar, it has to be his most cherished possession, as he had Marty promise if Russ,s Grandson doesnot want Russ,s last and most beloved 1974 R 90/6, then he gets it.

My, my, more stories. The sidecar rig was built by Ben Bedford the Second.
Retired U.S. Army Special Forces Lt. Col, a true class act. His son the late Ben Bedford the Third was a club member. Before he past away he painted my
1975 R 90/6 " Princess", would not take a cent for paint of labor, Trey as he was called ,passed on all to soon.

So Jim, you met a Heart Doctor who was touched by our own Russ Simpson.

Russ had a saying, when you buy a BMW motorcycle you get more than a motorcycle you get a way of life.

I never had a better friend than Russ and miss him every day.

              Jim,
I took that picture of Dad, Russ and Harold, and I do believe that it was the rally you mentioned.
