No Pets?

I saw on the MOA sites that pets aren't being allowed at the Chicken Rally this year. Is this true? I hope not.

Hey Greg.

I was told that at the rally last year one of the pet's favorite place to poop was in the kitchen area and two others barked all night long and tried to bite passers-by .

Was it attendees pets or just the "wild" dogs that run the park? Joan

It was the attendee's pets, some of which were carried in their arms as they went through the chow line. They were highly insulted when told their pets were not admitted in the kitchen area. I know dogs are admitted to the kitchen table in some homes but I don't believe it is appropriate in public places.

That's too bad that happened. I was surprised by the no pets at all policy. As I travel full time with my dog it means that I will have to stay at another place or not attend at all.

Monte Sano State Park

Hi Greg, If you will be arriving in your camper Monte Sano State Park is not far away and since there are no hookups available at the rally site I may bring my little RV up there myself. Take a look at this link.

Monte Sano State park is close to my house. It is a small state park up on Monte Sano Mountain and is actually pretty nice. If you wish to board your pet, I can ask my wife as we currently have two cats and had a dog a few years ago. She knows the scoop on the boarders.

I "might" be able to help. Since I live near the site (@10miles) and will not be at the house during the rally, and have a fenced-in yard, you would be MORE THAN WELCOME to stay at my place so the dog has a place to hang. I'm sure RockytheWonderdog and kitties Cheech & Chong wouldn't mind the company. It's an option.
