Good Place To Eat in Piedmont

I'm planning an overnighter to ride to and camp at Horse Pens 40 as a Georgia Club ride. Our lunch stop will be in or near Piedmont, Alabama.

Can any of you fellows give me a good recommendation on a locally owned eating place in that area that would be a good place for our group to stop and eat?

Once we get it all planned I'll shoot out an invite for any of you folks in the Alabama club that might want to join us at that camp out.

Hey Boxer.

I looked at our ABEES eatery guide for some Club's recommended places to eat in Piedmont. There are no restaurants there or in the area. I hope someone familiar with the area will respond with a good place to eat. I also hope you y'all have a good ride in Alabama. Horse Pens is one of the most unique places in the country.

Check out the Solid Rock Cafe.... nice small hometown cafe... food is good.

A group of 5 of us from the Georgia club ventured over to Horse Pens 40 to camp last weekend. We did indeed stop at Rock Solid Cafe and were pleasantly surprised at the place. Surprised not because we doubted the referral. We just didn't expect a neat restaurant like that in Piedmont. Don't ask me why, but I was expecting one of those little country buffet places with cornbread and fried chicken. As I said: Pleasantly surprised.

Very nice, chic decor with a huge sandwich menu and lots of cool desserts, etc.

HP40 was great also. It was my 2nd visit there and our group enjoyed it.
