A commercial for the Nissan Juke about the Japanese manufacturer’s crossover automobile’s motorcycle-inspired center console is sending a very anti-motorcycle message. The controversial video (look for it after the jump) has the Juke chasing down motorcyclists and running them down in a parking garage.Automobile manufacturers often tout “motorcycle-inspired” design elements, and the shape of the center console in the Nissan Juke (pictured above) is one example.(We’d post a picture of what the Juke looks like from the outside but we don’t think the Juke needs the promotion; besides, in the words of reviewer Derek Kreindler on our sister site, Autoguide.com: “The Nissan Juke is ugly.”)But while other manufacturers describe the two-wheeled inspiration in more or less respectful tones, Nissan has taken a different approach, describing the center console as a hunting trophy from the Juke’s run-in with a motorcycle gang.

They now have my comments as well. Thanks Don for posting this.
I wonder what Nissan's response would be to Kenworth making a commercial depicting running down and "killing" all the Jukes....but I think I know what their response would be!

Thank you for contacting Nissan North America, Inc. and allowing us the opportunity to be of assistance.
We at Nissan North America, Inc. are very concerned about acceptable advertising programs. We do have both a professional screening service and our advertising agency monitoring the general content of advertisements carrying the Nissan message.
Nissan recognizes that people have different standards as to the acceptable content, and we sincerely apologize that you found this particular advertisement to be unacceptable. We appreciate your time and concern in contacting us.

I got the same response too. Of course that just po'd me more.
So here is what I "replied".
***Your "canned" response does nothing to alleviate the outrage I feel about your ad. Nor do I find it acceptable.
Your "Professional Screening Service" and your Advertising Agency are both apparently under qualified for the job. You would do better to spend those funds on actual consumer research in pre-ad screening venues.
I have my doubts that you appreciate either my time or my concerns considering that your response is identical to others and probably automated to the point it generates the file numbers.
"We shall see" as the saying goes......if I get a different answer to this or the same "canned" response as below.

Way to go Connie. My reponse was slightly different than yours and Don's. They thanked me for contacting them about the Juke commercial. They appologized that it offended me and said that it was not their intent to do so and that they would forward my complaint to their advertising department. Same BS different words. Imagine that. " Thanks for your feedback. We’ve heard the public's concerns regarding the JUKE Trophy digital video, and pulled it immediately from all Nissan hosted sites. And we're working diligently to have the video removed from other websites as well. Nissan 100% promotes sharing the road with all riders and drivers and does not condone reckless behavior. "
