  • Looking for R1150RT in L.A.

We are toying with the idea of buying an R1150RT and would like to see one close up. Does anyone know of anyone close to Mobile that might have one we could look at?

Wow, that looks to be in showroom condition. Really low miles as well. I'll add it to the list.

      Thanks,
      John

        Mr Prez,

If all goes well I should have one at my house (Enterprise) the first week of December. I will be home for a week or so and could be talked into going for a ride if you want to see one.

That would be wonderful. Where did you find yours? Not too many for sale close by. I did find a nice low mileage '04 down in Miami for a good price.

If you come down, a nice seafood dinner awaits!

            Hey John,

I post on BMWST.com and a fellow member sent me a PM asking if I was interested. As a matter of fact, two members sent me a PM and I chose the 2005 model that is in Atlanta. Lots of extras and a great price.

I will let you know when the time gets closer about coming down. I would be an early departure for me and arrive around the noon time or so.

            Take care,

            Steve

Anyone know anything about this 2003 RT? Should I hold out for an '04?

The advantage of the 04-04 is the twin spark which is said to have eliminated the surging issues. A very thorough valve adjustment and Throttle Body Synch can also get rid of most, if not all of the surging. That is a heck of a price though with some good extras.

Yes, he has some nice extras there. I like a back rest, had one on the GW and it made a lot of difference. I'll give him a call in the morning.

I should have said 04-05 1150 with the twin spark. That 03 looks very nice and I am sure that Vance and some of the others up that way know if this bike. I will be looking for a backrest and the large lids to go on mine. I have not had a backrest yet. I just use an oversize bag packed when I am solo. The large lids however are very handy.

You can also visit IBMWR.org and look at the market place. Several there. The BMWMOA has a flea market. Yo can see all the ads there but will not be able to get the pics unless you are a member.

                      Good luck hunting.

I'm finding lots of nice low mileage bikes out there. 1100s, 1150s all years. I can't buy anything until I get my arm out of this cast, so I've got some time to shop.

You can buy anything you want, you just can't ride until the arm is out of the cast.

There are plenty of bikes out there. I did not plan on buying until next year but this one just happened upon me and I said what the heck.

It will be nice to have something sitting in the garage waiting for me 4 times a year when I am home, of course not to be outdone by my lovely wife and puppies. I don't keep them in the garage though.
