I can't go this year, but it is on my list for next year. If you are going, please note that the St. Fancisville Ferry is permantely closed due to a new bridge in the area.

If anyone is going to Swamp Scooters and wants to leave Thursday, Gatorville B&B is open and we have vacancies for a few people who want to spend Thursday night. And you can't beat the room rates. We're going to leave for the rally Friday morning from here and ride some back roads there.
Sorry, not going to make it this year.... I had a fever for new bike, call the bank and the banker said take two aspirins and the fever will go away...so I got an second opinion...that banker said go for it....
Picked up a 2011 GS Adventure at Pandora's today...some nice factory to dealer to customer incentives on remaining 2011 models.
So will spend the weekend, changing out a few things, keeping my Micatech panniers but will add the BMW bracket from new bike.
Therefore after I pull and switch a few things around, I will have my 07 BMW GSA for sale... less than 82,000 miles garage keep, but never rode it in the garage....only one shameful parking lot drop...no crashes.
Bike has an UNLIMITED Milage warranty good until Jan. 2013, transferable, if you get the work done at Pandora's it $25 deductible, $50 if work is done somewhere else... HAS a 2008 Final Drive (drain hole in bottom), the Drive Shaft has been replaced, the ABS sensor last week was replaced, all under my Warranty... So if you know someone that wants to try or add a GSA to the stable, this bike is ready... Going to ask $11,500 with the warranty transferred. Will leave several extras on the bike.. HID high and Low .. LED SPOT for night vision, Hyper lights flashing break light. and few other things.
I will add it to Equipment for sale when I get some pictures without panniers.
Will have it at Pandora's in a few days.

I flew a trip to Houston and back this afternoon. Went right over Gator's house at 37 thousand feet. I guess I really never paid much attention before, didn't have a reason before now, but there sure is a lot of swamp down there. Hope y'all have a good time and perhaps we can make it down there next year since I will be retired.

Friday lunch of Chicken Sauce Piquante was provided by David and Lydia Fontenot. Friday dinner was all the crawfish etouffee and fried catfish you could eat. Saturday morning started off with doughnuts, beignets, boudin sausages and cracklins and finished Saturday night with a gumbo cook-off which provided enough gumbo to drown in, all the while with a live Cajun band that kept everyone dancing the night away. Gator has pictures of the "Ya Ya Sisters" entertaining everyone.
If you missed this event, shame on ya'. Maybe someone will post pictures.
Saturday mid-morning Malvene and I visited Fred's in Mamou for an unforgettable experience. Google it for more information or click here:
I found it interesting that Tante Sue has a few rules that will get you thrown out of the place. One of those is "No lip kissing inside the lounge". The lounge is only open on Saturdays from 8am till 2pm and is absolutely packed. If you are ever close by Mamou on a Saturday morning, this place is a must!
As Jamie said, we did pass a good time. Lots of good Cajun food and time spent with good friends. It don't get no betta than that. The weather was almost perfect although a little on the chilly side. They had a pretty good turnout with over 200 attending. Here are our pics.
Sorry I didn't make it down... I worried all weekend about you not being able to be on time! Glad Gator and crew was there with you.
Don, Jamie could have used some help fending off all of the LSU-Bama jokes this weekend but we did make sure that he was on time for everything. Saturday night we made sure that he was on time for dinner, we left at 5:51 which we all know in Alabama time is 9 to 6 ( I guess this thread is finished now)
