For those of us that did not make Swamp Scooters, an "instead" ride was conceived for yesterday. Brothers Harrelson + Mari, "Touring Tim" Flynn, Joan and Terry Ware along with Jim McCorstin set out for a "leaf lookin'" ride to Cheaha with a planned lunch stop at the top of the mountain. We laid out a meandering route that took us out through Leeds and across Mountain Top Loop into Pell City. From there out AL34 and through the woods out to Hwy 77. Acroos the big road in front of the Talladega Speedway and up the pig trail to Cheaha. A nice lunch on top was had before a ride down 49 with this stop for a photo op at the Shinbone City Hall. Our return took us through Waldo, Alpine acroos the Logan Martin Dam and back up Hwy 25 to finish off the day. About 200 miles for the day, some beautiful scenery in nice warm temps with great friends...now "dat's what I'm talkin' about! Although It wasn't Swamp Scooters...but it wasn't bad!"
