I ran across this on another web site and thought I would share these thoughts from a happy BMW rider:
Greetings everyone,
Does anyone have a "Magical" Cure for a K-Clock that runs fast?
Clock runs approx 30 minutes fast per week.
When I had this problem I went to my local BMW mechanic. I was really afraid that he would try to take advantage of me because I'm not very mechanically minded so I was very relieved when he told me that I didn't need a new clock but he just needed to adjust the clock bearings and add a little fluid – $100 (including parts and labor!) instead of the $400 for a new clock! He did say it might still run a little fast because they used synthetic fluid and it requires more break in time than regular fluid. I'm so happy that there are still honest mechanics out there.
