Paul & I met our good friends, and club members Dave & Liz (Elizabeth) Smith for lunch today. We ate at Larry's Restaurant (famous in the area for his fried chicken and ribs) in Eupora, MS. Upon arriving, Liz graciously gave me a beautiful, handmade quilt. This is just one of many she has made. These quilts are the real deal like grandmaw made, not sewn on a machine. As you will see, after looking at the pictures, she has a talent for this. I have placed the quilt on my guest bed, so all who visit can enjoy it. DSC00005.jpgDSC00007.jpgDSC00004.jpg

That is really a nice piece. And from what I understand that is a real talent. We have long thought about a t-shirt quilt fro the many t-shirts we have, but don't know anything about quilting!Current Bikes

That one pretty quilt...In 2010, on my return from Alaska and attending the MOA in Redmond, We decided to stay in Sisters, Oregon just a few miles from Redmond to the West....but it was 15 degrees cooler in daytime and 40 or more cooler at night....as the Pacific air passed over the mountain range and lands in Sisters...in July we set a national low one night. But what was unique about the quaint town of Sisters....we landed there just a few days before the International Quilt festival... we got the very last camp space in the city park..the town swelled from 6,000 to 50,000 in matter of a day or so... quilts where displayed everywhere and at every store and on the streets...folks from all over the world came to this event....the quilts where sold during the display and they where quite expensive as well....but it was amazing as is the quilts in the picture the amount of detail, work and craftsmanship. I am lucky to have several of my great grandmother and grandmother's quilts.Don G Norwood
