NO simple way to explain.....but consider that it takes a tractor-trailer rig of equipment, including eight computers and at least four people, to accomplish this task.... according to my friend Google.

When the yellow line was first introduced, Malvene was somewhat disappointed to learn that the players could not see it. She said she thought it would be pretty convenient if they could. Sometimes it seems that they can see it for they barely get the ball across it to gain a first down.

Only the refs can see it, that way they know where to spot the ball for a first down if they like the team or shy if they don't
