I had the pleasure and honor of enduring 2 hours, 25 minutes and 44 seconds of pain an exhaustion this morning, starting at 0530 with about 15 other guys to honor a friend of one of our search and rescue SAR medics.
The fallen here was killed in Falujah, Iraq in 2006. He was point man on a USMC Reconnaissance team and paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The workout dubbed "The Z-man challenge":
40 pull ups followed by a 5k run, then:
50 burpees (drop into a push up position, execute one push up, stand up and jump into the air with your arms overhead) followed by a 5k run with a 35 pound pack, then:
100 push ups, 200 sit ups followed by another 5k run!
So I will be suffering for the next few days, but nothing compared to the suffering of his loved ones and friends. That is the motivation to do these warrior work outs.
