I owuld be interested to know what you think if you try it out Bruce. I heard the new owners were nice and had the place all fixed up. Now that I think about it I have not been in the area in probably five years or more. and that sure is a beautiful place and fuuuuuun to ride there too!

Hey Bruce, Their Facebook page says that the campground and restaurant will open in March but rooms are available in the Lodge. I have a friend in Gainsville, GA that has been there last summer and said the place was quite busy and that they have a new bathhouse. I don't remember if he commented on the food or not.

Tommy, we have had monthly meetings there before, but not in the last fifteen years or so. The last one may have been 1998.

What I recall the last time we had one there , it was good. We ate at the camp ground and some good riding. I thank the man that had the camp ground at that time took us on a ride on some good roads.

The last one that I remember was when Vern was president. Time flies.

I think you are right. I was thinking about people that was in the club 10 and 15 years ago. Thinking where some could be today and if there are still riding. I believe back then we all rode air heads and ate together at the clubs meeting and camp outs. Lone time ago.

The man that owned the place then was Frank Cheek, a retired airline pilot and avid motorcyclist. He was indeed a colorful character.

Yes he was indeed! I had heard a lot of folks say they didn't "get along" well with him. My experience with him was just the opposite. As long as you acted with good sense, Frank was a nice guy to say the least. He was intelligent and interesting. Go up there and act like a fool, and he would send you packing in a minute. He told an acquaintance of ours, who rode a Harley and acted like a fool sometimes, that he (Frank) didn't think that TWO was the right place for him! In other words,,,pack up and leave NOW Gail

Yes he was one of a kind. If you could get him to take you for a ride , he know all the roads.
