I have a new camera and wanted to post some pics we took today. I get a message "The dimension limits for this filetype are 800 x 800. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again". I need this explained because I am an idiot. Is this done on my camera, or on the computer? Thanks..Gail

High Gail...there are a couple ways to re-size your photos...I am stupid on this stuff too but this is how I do it. For the pictures already taken you will need to open them in a program on your computer and re-size them. I use a free program called XNView. If you do a web search for that title you can go to their website and download the program to your computer for free. Once in there there is a selection to "re-size" and you can do it there.
For pictures not yet taken you should be able to adjust the settings on your camera so that it creates the picture as a smaller file size and it can be directly posted to the web site.
That is how I do it...I am sure other that have more technical expertise will offer additional info!Current Bikes

Hi Gail! If you have a Mac, I am clueless. If you have Microsoft, this is what I do...go to "My Pictures," choose the photo you want and right click. When the menu comes up, put your mouse over "Open With," and choose Microsoft Office Picture Manager. When the picture opens there, click on "Edit Pictures." A menu will come up that says, "Change Picture Size." Click on "Resize." When the "Resize Settings" come up, click on "Predefined Width x Height." The drop down menu will open, click on "Web-Large (640x480px)." When the image changes, click "OK" at the bottom of the menu you are working in. Then go to the menu on top and click "File." When that menu opens, click "Save As." Another window will open with the original file name highlighted at the bottom. I always keep the original file name or number and just put a "w" behind it so I know which is the smaller web file. When you have the file name typed in, click on "Save." When you close out Microsoft Office Picture Manager, it will ask if you want to save the changes...click "Don't Save" and the program will close. What you have just done is kept your original photo size and made a smaller web size. That way, you maintain the larger image for a better picture, should you decide to make a print. Lee Isaacs once told me, "Never eat your seed corn." In other words, keep the original file, you made need it for a higher purpose later ;-) Hope that helps! suzJim Dubick

Gail, I use a program called PixResizer which can resize individual pictures or do it in batch mode. It is a free program and can be downloaded from http://download.cnet.com/PixResizer/...-10607499.html

Thanks all. I have figured out how to change the setting on my camera, but haven't been able to resize the pics I already uploaded to my computer. I will keep trying, and I appreciate all the help.
