  • Standing for Secretary of Club

Well, I saw that no one has stepped up to be the Secretary of the club, and as Barbara so eloquently said - you should run if you want to make a change - or words to that effect. I would really like to see the club make a few changes as far as allowing everyone to feel like they are a welcome member of the club and that our governance be open and transparent with no hidden agendas or secrets. I don't know how much I can help but I am willing to try, and I have a lot of very good business experience as well as civic experience. In addition to having an MBA in Finance, I have over 20 years of business experience primarily in real estate investment funds, and I have served on the boards of Rotary, United Way, Junior League, and many other organizations.

And I ride! A lot!!! We now have 3 BMWs and 2 Kaw.

If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like to vote for me by email ballot, please let Martha Warren know by email ASAP.

I am happy to take on this role but my feelings won't be hurt if anyone else is interested and is elected. The more people want to help, the better.

Lenn, so glad you decided to run for the empty Secretarial position. You most definitely are well qualified.

As I told Lenn earlier, I am very glad that she decided to take on this position. I feel that the secretary's office is a very important one for the Club,
and I have been very concerned that until now no one has stepped forward. I know that Lenn will do a great job and I will help and support any way I can.

Thanks Lenn - thought about it but know we will be missing a few meetings this year and also being in SE La. makes it difficult. Also don't have very good word program - lots of times can't be opened by others. Excuses, excuses huh. But the thank you is genuine. Ma'am Gator (Wanda)

Yes, I thought about it too. However, I don't want to step up and take a job that I know I can't do well. This position is an important one. This person needs to be at EVERY meeting and I know I can't be right up front, so no need to put my name on the list. Also, in case no one has noticed, I am VERY opinionated and just can't keep my mouth shut....soooo it is just best to let it be. Gail
