To all I apologize for missing the past several meetings and especially seeing everyone and invading your privacy by lurking around every corner looking for that illusive photo. But, the missed meetings could not be helped.
My wife, Janice has encountered a delay in the opening of the new motorcycle dealership. At the present time, she has not received a Certificate of Occupancy which she must have before she can obtain a business license. The issue...the retention pond does not have enough grass on it to pass inspection. They want it sodded, not seeded.
Yesterday, after I placed a call to the Mayor's office last Friday, the city has agreed to work with Janice until the pond passes inspection and she was able to obtain a business license as of yesterday. It is workaround, but will allow the dealership to start selling bikes. With this workaround, Triumph is in the process of shipping bikes to populate their showroom. In the next few days we should start getting the first shipment of about 30 bikes to put together and get to the showroom.
While I am not at the shop most of the time, Janice is and someone has to stay at home with our aging Yorkies and keep up with the computer work and web sites.
I regret not being able to attend the meetings, but look forward to the gathering at Atmore when at least, we can open up the dealership for those looking for a trip on Saturday morning. We would be honored if you could come by and let us cook up some burgers and dogs for those who can make it.
Also, a big thanks for Russ and Roxanne for pointing their son, Doug, our way. Doug is now a salesman for Rosie's 1901 Garage & Trading Post. He will be selling both Indian and Triumph bikes. Janice is working with Doug to make sure he can still attend school and since his Major is Logistics and Janice has a Ph.d in Logistics, taught at the school and was a student advisor, it seems like a great fit for all concerned. We are extremely proud to have Doug as a part of the Rosie family. Now his biggest challenge...selling his Dad a new Triumph Tiger.
Be Blessed and Ride Safe.
