  • Which Tent Do You Recommend?

I have several trips planned for this fall and early winter. I have a two person (very small) tent and my BlackBird Hammock. While I really like my Hammock, it is a bit restrictive for two or three nights in a row. I am currently looking at the Redverz motorcycle tent due to being able to stand up to get dressed and a way to have items inside during inclement weather including the bike. And, because it is compact.

I am not against a nice Dome style tent, but want some room to keep my bags out of the weather. Most 4 to 6 person style tents over the stand-up option but not the portability.

Would love to hear you suggestions and comments.

    Thanks in advance...

talk to Russell, but I think a Redverz is in your future. I don't have one but I know he really likes his....that is when he doesn't pack along that log cabin!!

      Paul,

If speed of set-up and roominess is important, check out the Catoma 2 Up. I like it better than any other tent I have had previously.

Vance, Thanks for the info...maybe, Russell will see this thread and give some advice.

Bob, the Catoma 2 up looks nice, I do some research on it.

Hopefully, I will have something before Blue Ridge, just hate spending that kind of money for a tent.

        thanks

I have the 2 up also. I won it at the January meeting back in the ABEEES contest days. It's ok for one person but you wont be standing up in it. I would go for the Redverze if I was looking to buy one.

I purchased the Catoma 2 + 2 this past spring. Took it to the Chicken Rally and really liked the speedy set up and take down. The only downside I find is the length when packed up, almost 30 inches. That's been the only time I've used it so far.

I like my Redverz for camping by myself. They have a couple different styles now with a single and a double. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...xpedition-tent is the revzilla website. I also have a "log cabin" which is nice for taking along when you trailer the bike. http://www.kotulas.com/deals/igloo-8man-log-cabin-tent is the web site for the log cabin.

These are my two favorite tents for different reasons.

Well, I, or my wife Janice, has made my new tent decision for me. It will be the Redverz. After all the research I put into trying to decide, Janice said the tent was a great design. I agreed. So, her dealership, Rosie's 1901 (shameless plug) is now the new Redverz dealer. Can't wait to pitch it at the next event. She's got a yellow one set-up in the Rosie Room at the dealership along with my Kermit Chair...looks great.

We are not Kermit Chair dealers, but it just looked so good. Strange, no one that came into the shop today had ever heard of a Kermit Chair...but we will try and educate them into the proper camping equipment. Maybe a Kermit dealership will be in our future as well.

Good choice. We have the same tent and like having one we can stand up in. The vestibule even provided shelter for 6 burly guys sitting in Kermit chairs in a pouring rain at a rally.

Being able to stand up was a major plus for me in my research.

Kermit chairs and redverz. It don't get much better than that. I'm glad you settled on a good tent, I think you'll enjoy it.
