Welcome Ryan, you will enjoy the club and the resources it provides. Since you say you moved back I will assume some familiarity with Alabama. The next club meeting is at Guntersville State Park June 24, 25 which is a great location for those of us who do not like to camp. Most club meetings are at campsites but in this case you have the option of staying in one of Alabama's best park lodges. Also, the ride led by Bob Steber on Saturday will introduce you to some of the best roads in Alabama and arguably the best cheeseburger in the state. Please consider attending. If you are unfamiliar with the roads or just want to join me for a pleasant ride, I could meet you just north of Birmingham around lunchtime and show you a couple of backroad routes to Guntersville.
Welcome again,
David Hogg

Welcome Ryan and I look forward to meeting you in person. David mentioned our monthly gathering which will be at Lake Guntersville State Park June 24-26. For details check out the posts on this forum, happenings section. Our ride will be a good one. We will ride on the best of the best roads in Alabama and will have lunch at a little out of the way place in Pikeville, Alabama. The cheeseburgers there have the reputation of being the best in Alabama.
With your history mentioned here, I think that there is a good chance that you may know our club members in your area, affectionately known as the "fly boys". Jim Kalahan is our club president, and Russ Kruse and Reese Mullins are avid riders and very active in the club. You can find their contact information in the this forum - members only - membership directory.
Hope to see you in Guntersville.Last edited by R90srider; 06-14-2016, 08:48 PM.Bob Steber

Hey Jamie and Jim. Better look more closely at your maps. The Pikeville Store and Deli is in the Pikeville community. Blackancle is about two miles east on County Road 31.
Jim is correct, it is listed as a Scottsboro address probably for the same reason that my address is in Birmingham, but I am actually in the Hoover postal district.Last edited by R90srider; 06-15-2016, 08:50 AM.Bob Steber

Jim, just as there are two Pine Levels close to Montgomery, one a few miles north and the other a few miles south, there are at least two Pikevilles in Alabama. The Pikeville Store is named that because it is in the Pikeville community. Same goes for the Pikeville church which is close by.
This post is about having a great time being with Alabeemers and friends at the Lake Guntersville State Park, not getting into a geographic discussion. If you want to continue the discussion, I'll be happy to answer your email to me.
I look forward to seeing everyone at Lake Guntersville State Park.
