  • Wicked Eyed Woman

Short notice, but just got new shoes for my GS. Leaving Monday for Elizabethtown, KY. Why. A friend ate at the Wicked Eyed Woman Restaurant in Elizabethtown when she and her husband went to Chicago to visit her son. With a name like that, I just gotta go. Plus, it is not NW GA. Company would be welcome. On your own for room and board. I will treat for anything on the menu at the restaurant and a drink at night (as long as it's Wild Turkey 101).

More a reason to ride thru TN an KY. I'm still home. Forgot an obligation today that had to be done. Got the last of that out of the way a while ago and going to load out and fuel this afternoon with a launch in the morning. Aiming to go over Monteagle TN the back way then on toward Cookeville for my overnite. Then lunch and a wander back. Should be back by Thursday. Sooner if the trip loses it's appeal, or my back acts up. If I make it I intend to get my picture taken with a wicked eyed woman. My luck, she will have red hair (a weakness of mine that never ends well)

Ok. Found the Wicked Eye Woman. Great food. Their Reuben is almost as good as the Mare Sol Restaurant in La Grange. Stopped at Sewanee and posted a picture to twitter, also had to stop to see the cabin that Abe Lincoln was born in. I found and re-found TN Hwy 56. I didn't ride it all the way, but most of my riding in TN was on it. Great road. Mostly well maintained and, and-well it just a nice ride. It's not NW GA, but it's worth the trip. Rode in today. Had a fight with my Motel bed last night so I just kept coming south. 491 miles. I Will Not Do An Iron Butt Ride.

I'll fill you in on this particular Wicked Eyed Woman's story the next time we meet. I feel another overnighter coming with a ride from tip to tail on Hwy 56 and exploring back the other direction. Just got the word on the Rattlesnake saloon ride. I'm going to have to do a solo ride to see that place. My Granddaughters HS grad party is that day, so you know where I will be. I Googled the place and just have to go. Stay safe.
