Non bike related personal requests

I need some stuff. I'm asking friends for help in this.
I need the pop tops off any kind of can. Lots of them.
I need chip and cookie bags (empty) any kind of snack bags in that colorful mylar like plastic they put them in these days. No need to wash them I'll do that. I do not eat any kind of these snacks so I need friends to save them for me. I also don't ever have any can drinks or beer or anything. Even some canned vegetable have pop tops. Any kind is fine.
I'm needing to save up a lot of these items for a couple of craft projects. Just stuff them in a Walmart bag and give them to me when you get a few saved up.
Is this motorcycle related? NO...........that's why it's under chit-chat labeled "non-bike related"..............

PS - if anyone hears of anyone remodeling a kitchen or something and they are taking out their cabinets, I don't need them for inside my house but I wouldn't mind some REALLY CHEAP OR FREE used ones to hang in the garage for parts and stuff.

Why don't you buy a bunch of those snacks and ship them to me for eating and I will get the bags back to you. I am sure some of the other fine folks will help likewise in gathering pop-tops if you send them beer. You could also bring a truck load of this stuff to the next meeting and everyone will be glad to help you out. This will really speed up your kindergarten show and tell project.

If we haul this crap to you on our bikes, does this make it a bike related subject?

If I had the money I'd buy all that crap and have a party and collect what I needed all at once. But alas............

It's nothing exciting, I just want to try my hand at making one each of those purses we saw in Cozumel they wanted $40 and up for. Some were made with crocheted pop tops and some were made with gum wrapper chain technique only using the shiny various color bags from cookies and chips.

If I get enough of the materials I can @#$ well figure out how to make them. That's the easy part.

But I'm going to need somewhere in ther neighborhood of 1000 pop tops just for a small purse/tote bag.

So quit typing and go eat and drink !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pop Tops

Hey Connie,

We have probably close to 1000 pop tops now. When do ya need them? Unlike those picky lift pilots i'll just have to buy more beer to drink with my friends to get more tops. Besides i think the "outlaw" hasn't seen a pop top, he still uses a church key to get into his rusty top steel cans

There's no rush Jim, it's for a project I'm going to re-create from memory of something I saw in Cozumel on the cruise. And with all the rally preparations I won't get started on it till after the rally. So whatever becomes convenient at some point. Maybe that will be a good excuse for a Saturday ride for some of us to meet for lunch one weekend, or I'll just get you to box them up and mail them and I'll pay you postage or something.

Kris Hieber and I saw some purses crocheted with pops tops crocheted into the pattern and it was so surprisingly nice looking she couldn't tell that it was pop tops. A really pretty "nite out" looking purse. I had to tell her that the shiny parts were pop tops. It was that well done. She really wanted one but they were like $50 so I want to make her one.

Same thing with the snack bags. They had purses made from the old gum wrapper chain type design but on steroids, to where it was very art deco and she didn't know what it was made of till I showed her in the fine details. So I want to make one of those too.

Obviously, you have not read the reports (oh, I forgot CAV guys can't read) about aluminium causing alzheimers. Now I know why you are having memory problems. Avoiding alzheimers (CAV disease) is the reason I have stayed with iron cans.

why don't you pick yoself up one of them mexicans for a boyfriend and have him do the bag for you or bring one with him on one of his return trips from Mexico.

Actually, I know it will look well when you finish it. I'm just upset with yo whole family now that Ms. Polly has jumped ship to Vance. Tell her I wasn't abandoning her. I just thought it best to lie low while this polygamy stuff is all over the news. But it's apparent to me she can't hold onto a long term committment.
