Thanks Steve. Looks like you may be coming one of those rag heads. I noticed the beard and scarf. wish I could come over and fly with you a couple of days, but I don't want a long term engagement (just ask Ms. Polly.)

The beard lasted about a month and then it went. I am keeping a light growth now just for the hell of it. The scarf is used to keep the body armour, survival vest, etc. off our necks in this heat. It keeps the chafing down.

            Steve,

Sorry you couldn't make the Vintage Bike Show. Your
R75/6 would have been a great addtion.

              Hey Steve,
Thanks for the update. I haven't been on here in a bit so I just saw them. Mr. Huey looks like he is in pretty good shape. You take care.

It would have been fun Tim. I have mixed feelings about completely restoring this R75 so she looks pristine. Others say to just keep it the way that it is. I plan on keeping her for a very long time. Jim did a great job matching the fairing and such so she looks good. Anyway I have quite a while to think about it.

The pictures looked good. Nice job setting it up.

Here are a few more pictures. The first shows the view from the cockpit of what it is like to takeoff and land here. Next is the typical type dwelling seen everywhere, then the finely divided line of the red desert.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of visibility in the first picture. Not much of a horizon there either. Afghanistan appears to be a very sparse country.

                    Take care my friend.

                        Steve.

                        Thanks for posting the photos.

I noticed what looks to be a Garmin street pilot (civilian type) on the dash of your chopper. Is that your personal unit?

Seeing the landscape, its difficult to see how folks can make a living there. Even by the river's edge there appears to be no vegetation like along the Nile.

                        Be safe Steve.

Looking forward to more photos and hearing how you are doing.

Visibility was about 20' in that picture. It gets down to what you see at your skid. Yesterday hit about 120 and is very dry with a 15 kt wind most of the time. I am getting used to it though. The GPS belongs to one of the other guys. It is nice to have, but he paid about $2K for it with all the software a couple of years ago.
