Terese, I wasn't at the meeting but the gadget that you're asking about is called ThermaCell. I turned on some of the members to it at the meeting in Gulfshores last year. It really works. You can find it at Wallyworld or Academy Sports or any place that sells sporting and camping goods.

Made a believer out of me last Tuesday night in the wilds of Colorado. Nice camping spot along a creek..state park..very remote. Ron Riggins and I rode in...unloaded and were basically attacked by dem little bugers! Fortunately Ron had packed his ThermaCell and I am REALLY glad he did!Originally posted by Bikebum View Post...and the darned thing really works!
A good investment for sure!Current Bikes

Same thing happened to us on Monday the 14th in Moran Junction outside of Yellowstone. We were sitting outside of our cabin late that evening relaxing and watching the fantastic view of the Grand Tetons when we were decended upon by a bunch of them pesky critters. My first thought was did we somehow take a wrong turn and get back home. No, we were in northwest Wyoming with temperatures in the low 50's. And guess what, I hadn't taken my ThermaCell. I didn't think we'd need it. It sure would have come in handy. Those critters were every bit as ferocious as the ones down here too, ouch
. Oh well, live and learn.

Appreciate your inputs, Fellas. I'll definitely be getting one if not to use on the front porch (fan just doesn't seem to do the trick).
Interesting note: while looking at websites for these things, one site showed two, one was about $5 more. The first description said 15' diameter. The more expensive sez 225 sq ft. One might think it puts out a lot more.... but if you know your math, 225 = 15 x 15. Pretty sneaky.....
Gator & Vance.... have a safe trip and have all the fun you can stand!!terese
