  • Working in Birmingham

I just found out that I'm am coming to Birmingham for a week next week, another in September, and a couple in October. I will be working at Baptist Princeton and Baptist Shelby in Heart Surgery. Anybody got any good ideas of places to stay near those hospitals?

Greg, I really don't think you want to stay anywhere near Baptist Princeton. That is not a very safe part of the city. It would probably be better to stay south of the city at maybe the Courtyard at the Colonnade, for instance.

agreed. I was also thinking of the Wildwood area, Lakeshore Drive and I-65. There are several places, Residence Inn, Hampton, etc. either area would be between both places....

Thanks guys. I hope I can see a couple people while we're up there. What exit would that be?

Actually, the Courtyard @ the Galleria (next to Jim'N'Nicks just south of the Galleria) wouldn't be a bad place. More convenient than the Colonnades for getting to either Princeton or Shelby.

If you do the Lakeshore Exit, that's Exit #255 off I-65.

If you do the Courtyard @ the Galleria, that's Exit 13 off I-459, which is Exit 250 off I-65.

Enjoy your visit in B'ham, but heed Jamie's warning about the area around Princeton. I wouldn't want to park my bike outside in that area.
