Has anyone used AOL pictures and if so is it a good site for photo albums and sharing? I'm trying to get started so that I can share pictures with members on the forums. I noticed that a lot of the members use picasaweb. Is this a better site and are there any costs? Let me know.

Gator, Picasa is very easy to use and easy for others to access. It is free software compliments of Google. Just go to http://picasa.google.com/ and download the software and you are in business.

Thanks Jamie, I think that I'll try picasa. AOL is free also but it looks like most of the members are using picas.

Ditto to what Jamie has to say about Picasa. Its easy to arrange your photos and also to place and edit captions. I used shutterfly.com in the past, which is also free, but Picasa is much better.

Another advantage Picasa offers is that it searches out all of the photos stored in your computer's memory and automatically organizes them in its own easy to access file.

        Good luck Bull Frog.

I agree Gator. I use SmugMug and it is pretty friendly but it costs. I did not know it was free..thats a better deal. Also I like the way you can add captions to the pics. I think you can do that with SmugMug too but I just don't know how...Heck, I think I'll download it too! God Bless Google!

            Posting photos through Picasa

Okay, signed up with Google for Picasa. have imported my photos. Do I have to sign up for a Google web account to be able to link my photos on the fourm? If so what is next on linking my photos to a thread?

              Morning Gary.

I think you will really like Picasa's features.

              1. Go to your Picasa photo file
              2. Identify photos you want to upload
              3. Left click on the first identified photo and enter captions then go to the
next one until you have finished
              4. Click on WebAlbum Icon
              5. Upload begins. It takes a few minutes. Click OK
              6. Click on "view on line"
              7. Copy and paste the web address

              It gets easier with practice.

              Good luck
