I was looking at the AL forum (still not a reg. member :-) and saw where a new member that was looking for an RT. (the one with high miles and the Uni-go.
Sadly we recently lost a friend over in Maggie Valley from cancer. David (yes, same first name...), well, his widow Diane, has his super clean 2002 (?, last year of the R1100) R1100RT-P bike she now has to sell. It is my understanding that it was a CA CHIPS bike. I looked at the odo the other day and it has 70K on it. David told me Thanksgiving that the tires only have 1,500 miles on them as he hadn't been able to ride but just a few local rides since mounting them. He put the larger "Touring" case halves on the bike but somewhere around the house are the original "city" cases. Along with 2 Nolan helmets and probably clothing which would probably be thrown into the deal. The bike looks like new except for some minor, hard to see scratch(s) on the front right "police" cylinder head protection bar. I "think" it has a full seat on it but honestly don't remember but seems like if had the original rider only seat I would have noticed it. Diane can tell him that. If the new member, or any others are seriously interested, I'll pass along her number for I told her I would try to help get the word out. (can you cross post this to the classifieds? Thanks)
I'd be glad to meet anyone in Maggie Valley and take them up to their house. Thanksgiving, David told me based on the condition and what he had researched, he thought $5,000 was a fair price. That's in-line of with the MCNews reports. I can call and verify the year model for anyone.
