  • Looking for a 1150

It is time to get back in the saddle after a year and a half break. I had a tentative deal on a 04 R1150R that fell through. So I am looking for a new option. I am interested in 03/04 R bikes but would consider others. Anybody upgrading?

    Erik,

Terry at T4 has a very low mileage R1100R on consignment. The price is good too ($2,600 I think). This is one of the best looking Roadsters I have seen. Actually it looks like a brand new bike.

Thanks Bob, that one had a few more miles than I was looking for. However he did have an 04 R1150R that looked pretty good. I could not make a deal on it though. I am looking at a couple other bikes right now. Still open for recommendations though

        Welcome Erik.

I'm really glad you are getting back in the saddle, and looking forward to riding with you again. If you get a bike in time for our Blue Springs meeting, my plan is to leave B'ham Saturday morning in time to have lunch at Huggin' Mollies. If you want to ride there together, let me know.

We shouldn't have a blizzard this year :-).

Of course it might be 110* too...around here you just never know! Peanut, glad to see you are "saddling up" again!

True Vance, but we haven't experienced 110 degree temps upon our return home from Blue Springs in February. We did ride through a blizzard on our way home from Blue Springs a few years ago and Erik did it without a windshield while continually clearing his face shield. Remember the photo of Jim's bike with 6 inches of snow on the windshield and front fender.

I hear ya...my comment was made tongue in cheek suggesting that you never know what kind of weather you will get these days....but I have to admit I dont recall it EVER being too warm at Blue Springs! lol....

                Hi Bob,

Thanks for the offer to tag along. I am still bike shopping and have to buy a full compliment of riding gear. It takes me a little time to find the right bike at the right price. I have looked at three pretty close at this time, but been unable to come to a deal so far. I suspect getting the bike and gear prior to Blue Springs is not going to happen with the work travel I have going on as well. I do look forward to getting out with the group again.
