2011 Mileage Contest & Challenge

In lieu of the ABEES challenge that we have had in the past, we will have a mileage contest and club challenge.

The mileage contest is what it implies. The rider with the most total miles is number one. All participants will be recognized with a certificate. There will be prizes for the first three high totals and the one with the average miles.

The challenge is for the members of BMWMOAL to record a total of 250,000 miles ridden this year.

To enter the contest, click on "2011 Mileage Contest" on our home page, fill out form. Include all bikes that you will ride this year.

If you sell or add bikes any time during the year, just email travel@bmwmoal.org with the information

Entry must be received by Saturday, March 5, 2011

Since this is (was) a BMW club, is the contest for miles ridden on a BMW? Gail

Gail, I see this as a BMW club contest for BMWMOAL members that ride BMW's. This is primarily for miles ridden on BMW's. Some of our members (you know who you are) have another brand as a second or third bike for dirt riding. Miles ridden on them are by a club member and generally ridden with other club members. Just my opinion, these should be counted. This is a fun contest to see if we, as a club, can ride 250,000 miles in a year.

Now y'all know I ain't trying to stir up nuttin ......but, this wasn't made clear at the meeting, and I didn't think about it until later. There are some FOB's that will think this is for them too, even though they don't ride a BMW. IT SHOULD BE FOR BMW's ONLY (in my opinion), and everybody knows that ain't worth a cent . I am going to log my KLR miles apart from the BMW mileage. If a FOB enters their mileage on an off brand bike, then I'll add my KLR miles to the heap. And I really don't care if I'm stirring up anything! Gail

We have over 400 members. This post has had over 120 views. There only 14 signed up with their mileage. What are you waiting on? Let's see if we can get 250,000 miles this year.

The form will not take my information! When I put my mileage in the blank, it tells me it must be a number?? Am I in the Twilight Zone or what? Gail

DON"T PUT A COMMA IN THE NUMBER . I guess this form thinks these motorcycles are all Harleys and can't possibly have more than 999 miles on them . Gail
