I just spoke with Gator (Bob Daigle) and he has seen an ophthalmologist who told him about the same thing that the emergency room did Saturday; he has a detached vitreous which is not a serious condition and is fairly common with older people. (I especially like the "older people" part). He told Gator that the condition will right itself in time and to go ahead and continue his trip.
p.s. I did some research and found out what this means is that the vitreous fluid in the eyeball is contained in a "capsule"that rests against the retina. The vitreous capsule has detached from the retina, but the retina is still intact with the nerve endings. Sounds complicated but the bottom line is that everything is going to be okay!
