  • Member Steve Irwin passed away

I do not have any details yet, but our nearly 30 year member , Steve Irwin, passed away this morning in Florida at his Mothers home from what I understand.
Steve, if you all remember, had lost a leg from diabetes complications, and had successfully lived several years after kidney and pancreas transplant feeling better than he had in many many years, as he told me. Steve was a wonderful soul and a good friend for all these years, who never failed to contact me for my birthday, life events, sicknesses, etc. And I visited him when he was in rehab from his transplants and brought him some of his first previously forbidden foods and we shared some great times over his victory.
Whenever I find out anything about the details of any services to be held I will post it here. Please forward this or call folks in the club to let the know as not everyone is on the forums or facebook, or whatever.
Oh and please let Lisa know if there is anything you can help her with through this.

Lisa just called me. Steve passed from a heart attack, apparently. There will be a memorial service for Steve at some point here in Alabama and Lisa will let us all know. But for the time being his wishes will be carried out in Florida.

So sorry to hear this. Last time we saw him he looked so healthy and way too young for a heart attack. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and Lisa--a very sweet man.

Nathan told me about it this morning. Steve was a great friend to everyone. So sad to hear of his passing.

That is really sad to hear. He had such a great attitude through all his troubles.
