    Hello Alabemers.

Polly asked me to tell you that Connie’s doctors told her that there is nothing more that they can do for her, and that they will release her into hospice care Monday morning (4/02/2018). Hospice will transport Connie in an ambulance to Polly’s home in Franklin, TN. with no cost to them. Hospice will also take care of the hospital bed and other equipment so that she can be as comfortable as possible when she arrives. Connie’s dog will go with them also.

Bob and I are deeply saddened by this terrible news and pray that Connie will be comfortable without pain during her final days. Our thoughts and prayers are for Connie and her family during this tragic time.

Paul & I are very sorry to hear this news. We certainly will keep Connie & her family in our thoughts during this time. For me being a woman rider, I have to say that Connie was a very big inspiration for me when I first started riding. The first time I met her was at the Shilo, TN rally many years ago. Connie graciously let me sit on her bike and offered much encouragement for me to get my own bike, and for this I will always be grateful. Also, for the newer club members who may not know Connie very well, I can tell you that she has been a very big part of the Alabama BMW Club for many, many years. I personally am very appreciative of the work Connie put into the club and all the sacrifices she has made for the good of the club, which has certainly helped make it what it is. She is one of a kind. Gail Thorne

To Gail's words I can only agree with. Connie didn't get me into riding motorcycles, or riding BMW's, but she is a major reason for me to be a member of the Alabeemers. She encouraged me to come aboard, even before I purchased my first BMW, making me feel welcome at the gatherings I was able to attend. I miss the Thursday Night non-meetings where Connie was present. They're just not the same without Connie's cheerful countenance.

      Be strong, Connie!

Connie was one of the first members of the Alabeemers I met back in 2002. My daughter and I were headed to Canada for the international rally. We met Connie and Bill Bedgood one day to do some lighting work on my RT. Krista thought it was so neat that Connie road her own motorcycle. An inspiration for sure and a down right nice gal. We are all thinking about you Connie during this difficult time.

So sad to hear about Connie. Connie was also instrumental in my joining the Alabama Club. I met her at my first Chicken Rally in the mid 90's. At every rally, she would encourage me to join the club. It took quite a while for her to convince me to join an out-of-state club, but I finally relented. I have enjoyed being a member from that time on. Connie will be in my prayers as she has been in the past.

Melanie and I are so very sad to hear this news. Connie was one of the first people we met when we first joined the BMWMOAL. She has always been a good friend with a quick, cheerful smile. Melanie and I wish Connie, her family and friends strength during this very difficult time. If someone talks to her or she reads this I would like her to know that we love her.

              Connie

So sorry to hear about Connie's failing health. She has been a rock in this Club, 6 years as President, many years as Rally Chair, Membership Director. Phillip and I will always remember the cheerful times she, Marty and her mother Polly sat at the Ditto Landing Chicken Rally registration desk getting hundreds of rallygoers registered. She even mentioned this Club has helped her through many hard times. Well, Connie, this Club and all the members who know you are praying for you and your family during these sad times, and hope you aren't in pain. Our love will always go with you.

A part of us has passed on. GodSpeed, Connie! The roads are smoother now, and the Beemers always start on the first kick (or press of the button!)
                    We'll all meet again someday.
