Thoughts and prayers for Bob Steber. He has developed a foot staph infection and is in the hospital with surgery planned some time next week. No visitors are requested by the doctors at this time, but he is taking calls on his cell phone. He will probably be there for several weeks, so we are praying for a full recovery. Bob said he has wonderful doctors and nurses so is in good hands.

Jim, I really don't know. He could get transported to another one for the surgery. He has his laptop if you want to email him.

        Hi all,

I'm in the VA hospital and doing great! The medical staff here is phenomenal and giving me excellent care.

Hopefully I'll be released tomorrow and then return Aug 7 for surgery to remove my pacemaker. Then back in a month or so to get a new one. Fortunately my ticker w/o the pacemaker is hanging in.

            Bob,

Boy it's good to hear your doing so well. Glad your going home and hope to see you soon. Did your pacemaker have a final drive issue? Take care, Paul

Ha ha. The staph monster laid a little egg on one of the pacemaker wires in my heart, so to be sure the infection is cleared, the device will be removed and Vancomycin therapy will continue until the infection is 100% cleared. Then a new pacemaker will be installed. Fortunately it will be in time for the Fall riding season.

                Bob,

I guess I should learn to keep my mouth shut. I was kidding you about the final drive failing on your pacemaker and guess what. On our way back from the club meeting, I was stuck on the side of the road for 3 hours with a final drive failure on my R bike. Not a good day. We are glad you are getting better and hope to see you on the road soon. Paul

Bummer Paul. I lost the final drive on the LT near Montgomery few years back and thankfully Terry Ware came to the rescue. Hopefully you will be back on the road soon.

I know you were kidding and enjoyed your humor very much, thank you.
