  • Mid week adventures

I took the opportunity to do some exploring in Tennessee this week. You can find pictures here.

Some observations on a couple of roads that I found. The first is The Devils Triangle . This is worth making a trip just to ride, maybe both ways. Check it out. If anyone interested, I will surely go back.

The other road is Lower Eastern Valley Road that runs from TN 30 straight down to Shellmound campground. It 50 miles of turns, smooth pavement and only about 4 stops.

Enjoyed the ride report and pictures Martin. Looks like the weather was a little drier than when we rode it last year with y'all from the Shellmound meeting, especially at Natural Bridge.

          Martin.

Thanks for the excellent photos and travelogue. Looks like you planned a fun route and didn't miss an ABEES point anywhere near where you were.

Glad you found the Devil's Triangle. I like going clockwise best, but counter clockwise is just about as good. Going clock wise, you will get the best view of Brushy Mountain Prison. This place is frightening to see, and sent chills up my spine just looking at it.

The Devil's Triangle is aptly named and is not a ride for beginning motorcyclists. I caution everyone who makes the ride to be very, very careful. Some of the hairpins are off camber and one of them, a left hander 180 degree turn drops of to at least a 1,000 foot fall at its apex if your front tire drops off the pavement. That said, Martin is correct; this is a fantastic ride.
