I had a two day meeting in Lincolnton, NC this past Tuesday & Wednesday. This made the perfect excuse to take a bike trip.
I left Sunday AM and was able to get a couple of ABEES points as I left Alabama. The destination for the day was my daughter's house in Greenville, SC. Did take slab through Atlanta but some back roads after Atlanta.
Monday was a day of riding in the mountains. There were two sections of this ride that are worth looking up if you are in the area. Hwy 9 from Bat Cave to Black Mountain and Hwy 181 - Old NC 17 from Linville to south of Morganton.
Home today from my daughter's in Greenville without getting on the interstate. All back roads thru the GA mountains. I took GA 52, GA 136 and county 53 from Dahlonega to Fairmount. This is a must ride again route.
I got a couple more ABEES points on the way home.
1008 trouble free miles. Here are few pictures.
Here is file with waypoints and routes.

That link to Tellico Plains is great. Makes me want to head up there for a scoot. Although it was not highlighted in the link, there is also a well stocked hardware store there. While eating luch one day on the the way to Cruso, I noticed Tweety had shucked her front axle pinch bolt (of all things) and actually found one, a metric thread bolt, in that hardware store! Couldn't believe it! The guy was really nice and even loaned me tools forthe install. Man, I gotta get ridin'!
