This past weekend I finished up my ride in search of the extremes of Alabama. This link will show you what I found.

Hey, that's pretty neat. You know, though, there is a separate marker for the center of Alabama that's a few miles from the Montevallo campus.... I wonder which is the correct one?

Good job Phillip! I will try to get mine posted too. And hey, I hear this morning from Bob Steber that Paul and Chuckwagon Thorne finished the Extremes ride in 27.5 hours! The bar has been set my friends!

OK guys. I have mine rounded up now too! Here is the link to them http://vanmar.smugmug.com/photos/ssp...lbumID=2796996 . Now that the Thornes have thrown down the gauntlet, I may just have to go back and do them again! That little road into Long Island was fun (Right Gail?). I wonder how it would be at about midnight!

Congrats Paul, Gail, Phillip and Vance for finishing the Extremely Alabama Challenge. Two more for me: NE & NW.

James, the inscription on the step at Main Hall states that that is the geographical center of the state. The new web site is terrific!! Thanks.

Yeah, but there's a monument in grave yard a few miles away that says the same thing. Which is the right one?

Don't know James. I didn't know about Montevallo until you suggested it last year. It's a great stop on a beautiful campus.

Sounds good. When you find it, let me know how to get there and I would like to see the photo too.

Hope you can find some time to join us this Saturday (12th) at 29 Dreams for Ron Riggins' historical ride to Horseshoe Bend and Ft. Toulouse. We will roll at 8:30 sharp. Come early for their excellent breakfast buffet.

                        Morning Phillip

I just clicked on your "public albums"; You really did a good job organizing and entering text on the Cocodrie photos. I am going to spend as long as it takes to learn how to use Picasa.

That sounds good. I might have a buddy go with me, maybe, and we can pick up my dad along the way. Do you or Ron have a route planned already?

James, I noticed that too! I can't find anything that is really clear on which one is the actual center, but I'd bet it is the cemetery. Just a hunch though.

Gail, I am thinking that too.... I still plan on getting a photo and GPS coordinates for the cemetery.
