Five hardy souls showed up at 7:30 for the ride. Vance, Lenn and her friends Steveo & Randall joined me for an enjoyable ride.
Our first stop was at the Keener Methodist Church. We stopped in the church yard and our kickstands buried up in the soft earth. Fortunately we were able to keep all bikes upright.
After visiting Buck's Pocket, we were forced to detour because water was over the bridge. We noticed that most of the streams and creeks were out of their banks. According to signs that we saw, there were more roads closed the day before.
The day started out looking like rain and while at Buck's Pocket the rain started. It only lasted about 1/2 hour and the rest of the day was partly sunny.
After going through Scottsboro, we stopped at the Pikeville store for their delicious cheeseburgers. All agreed that they are hard to beat.
We pushed on to the zoo yard art and up the mountain on CR33. It seems that the locals don't expect anyone else on the roads. As we topped a hill on Cr27, an old pickup was just stopped in the middle of the road. He was nice enough to finally move over and let us pass.
Lenn, Randall and Steveo had to leave the ride so Vance and I decided to check out the ribs at O'So Good BBQ on the way home. They were good but I think that Big Daddy's are better.
All in all a great day of riding; good roads, good fellowship, good food and great Bikes.
Here are some pictures of the ride.
Hope more of you can join us on our next club ride.
