LBL 200..We Survived!

This past weekend several of your fellow club members took part in the 24th annual LBL 200 off road event held in the beautiful Land Between The Lakes area in TN / KY outside Paducah.

This is an AMA sanctioned event and part of the BMW Adventure Riding Series. This is a special event in that other than the dirt / gravel roads in the area, no motorized vehicles are allowed meaning there are lots of horse and hiking trails there too but are off limits with the exception of this once a year event.

Participants were me , Russ Kruse, Jim Kalahan, Terry Ware, Gary Nesmith, Ian Schmeisser. We met, we camped, we ate, we rode, we're tired...but smiling indeed. at times the trails were quite aggressive but we attacked them with all we had and we were all impressed with our off road prowess!

We had a great weekend. As Vance stated our riding prowess was tested at times and other times we had some great trails to ride. Weather was great and the event is a must attend if you want to do some "OFF ROAD".

I got home about 7 PM on Monday, in bed by 10 PM, Snored like a chainsaw, Roxanne had to leave the room. Up at 4AM and back to work. Saw the Chiropractor and was told I was getting to old to play those kinda games. Ha, Ha, Ha. Had a great time but need to stay upright more, the view is better Lol.

Awesome ride, when I'm rich and famous my next bike (as in additional bike cuz Ursala's family) will definitely be a 650. Piney Camp ground is where me and the family camped one weekend when the kids were young and I was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, just up the road from land between the lakes; probably about '98 time frame. I was changing out my front tire, At Jim and Shelia's bout an hour ago, Jim gave me the readers digest version, told me about the two flats, ironic, because I had a flat on the Back of Ursala two weeks ago, at my parents house in TN, (my own dad-gum fault, I knew better). Maybe the flat tire fairy is through with the Alabeemers for a while. What an awesome trip you guys had, now where's the icon for "green with envy"?

Well after two weeks, and with the expertise of Bob Steber, I finally got the
pictures I took at the LBL 200 ready to post. I had a great time without too
much damage to me and the bike. I can't say as much for one particular tree!
