    Beautiful on Dauphin Island

    Forgot my camera of course, but it's clear and warm on the beach. We were lucky and got no rain on the way down. I am glad we are here and not up northeast . I always thought this would be a great place to have a club weekend, but it doesn't seem to work out with the campground. If it makes you feel better, Paul and I are thinking of you all . Gail

          We decided to ride over to Fairhope today and try out The Gumbo Shack. We saw a bit about it on the Food Network, I think Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. WAY OVER RATED, just for your info.Can't say it wasn't good, but nothing to rave about either. Their claim to fame is the gumbo and I have eaten better in Columbus, if that tells you anything. Traffic was HORRIBLE, and of course their was a wreck on I-10, so we got to ride REAL SLOW for most of the way back . However, had a good time anyway. Gail

            Oh yea, forgot to mention a small bowl of gumbo and a turkey sandwich for the two of us was $35.00. Guess I just don't get it, or maybe I DID GET IT!. Gail

              Just in case you haven't noticed, the price of everything has gone up this year. Not surprising.

                That would have to be some really good gumbo for that price. Well maybe if it was turtle
