Now that I have the Heidenau tires on my GSA I want to do some mild trail or FS roads this weekend. I would love some dirt and some water crossings. I did a search here but not too much came up. Any suggestions? I will use Basecamp to plot a route for my Navi IV based on your suggestions.

Hey Chris, there are several good "opportunities" for you in and around Cheaha. One suggestion for some "light duty" tests would be to try this out. I just scratched out this little deal for you. If you use Basecamp, you should be able to get to the start point easily enough. These are for the most part gravel roads that you could drive a car on but they are a lot of fun. Because of the recent rains there might be a little water in places but I cant think of any real "crossings"

Excellent, thanks so much Vance! I hoped for a suggestion to point me in the right direction, but with your Garmin route you've really helped me out. I'll hook up my nav to Basecamp now to view your route. Next GS ride you know of, count me in!Chris Patterson

I did indeed get out and get it a bit dirty yesterday. Thanks again for the route Vance. That makes it so much easier. What a great day for a ride as well, though I never saw another soul out there, very nice. The recent rains left the area with a great surface without being sloppy. Keep me in mind if anyone's doing a GS ride....I'm in! Pictures are very early on before I earned my mud badges!

Looks like fun. There is indeed a lot to ride up there. And like you, the last time up there I did not see a soul. It was Thanksgiving Day and I thought I would get out a bit before thelate afternoon family thing. I rode for miles out there there with no one around....and then I thought...man if I go down here, I will be in a pinch! We'll have to go back sometime soon!Current Bikes
