  • Thorne's North & East

Paul & I just got home Thursday from a road trip that carried us to Niagara Falls east along the Great Lakes continuing into Vermont, New Hampshire, and back South into Virginia & West Virginia where we took a couple of days to ride the local roads there. WOW! Then we rode most all of the Blue Ridge Parkway on our way home. It was a great trip on some wonderful roads. Here are a couple of pics.013.JPG011.JPG011.JPG

Taking mostly back roads on the way "up", Paul & I accidentally ended up riding the "Tail of the Dragon" . Even with heavily loaded bikes, we were easily able to out run any Harley that thought he could pass us . However, a couple of guys on some sort of 2-cycle dual sport bikes scared the bee-gee-bees out of me when they appeared out of nowhere blowing their little horns and passing us in a curve meeting a car. Thought I was going to have to pull over for a sec and have a little nervous breakdown, but then the Harleys would have passed. I never intended to ride that stretch of road, but I have to admit it was fun, even though we were tired after having ridden 500 miles that day. Gail
