Got new tires from Santa Claus. Went for a ride on Sunday for a few hours on our back roads here in HSV and up into Tennessee since there was a threat of rain. I don't have my yellowbook available, but I think I got a point for the Madison County Lake on that ride.

      Terese.

Madison county lake isn't on the ABEES list, but there are loads of POIs and eateries in your back yard. Also, some of the best roads in the state are there. Look in your Favorite Roads and Rides, NE section of the ABEES Travel Guide and you will see some familiar roads like Ala 65 and Kell Mountain. They are great ones. You may not know about Cr 33 down Crow Mountain. It is a bit rough, but one heck of a road. When you ride it, be sure to go on down to Pikeville Store and Deli for a fantastic cheeseburger. These are only three of the great roads up there. If you have a GPS, most of the roads and rides are available on our website for download.

Hope to see you on the ABEES list this year and looking forward to seeing you in Montevalo on the 31st. You can see me win the Bogart's Olympia Jacket Sunday morning

So how does one add to the list? I noticed many new additions last year. Do you get points for adding to the list or have to wait until the next year?

BTW.... you can remove the 5 Points Diner in Huntsville. They are no longer in business.

The ABEES Challenge is for each year, not collectively.

I find it easier to highlight and pencil in the date in the ABEES Touring Guide each time I get a checkoff, then on the notes page in the back of the Guide record the daily totals by category.

When you get your 20 checkoffs, send the info to me and I will record it on the spread sheet and send it to you each time you update. It's really easy when you get used to it and for me well worth it to have a good chance to win the valuable prize from Bogart's. It only takes one ticket to win the Olympia jacket, but the more tickets you have, the better chance to win. As of now there are 429 tickets to go in Vance's Ticket Machine.

Thanks for letting me know about the 5 Points Diner. I will strike it today. Hopefully, I will have the new Touring Guides for the Montevallo Meeting.

Glad he did no harm when he decided to merge between myself and Terry. The lightning show on the way home was beautiful, and the swim refreshing!

I enjoyed riding with all of you and look forward to the next one. Raceydog, sorry we missed you. Hopefully there will be another ride soon.
