Thanks for posting this Don. As in the last few years, I will be leading a ride that morning from the Pelham area. I would like to invite as many as can make it to join in. I will finalize all the details shortly and post them here.

We will plan to leave in the 8AM range and take a nice ride through the country and plan to arrive in Eldrige right around 11AM. We will visit, do lunch, visit with the kids and have a good ole time!

I will establish a departure time to allow us to ride directly to Guntersville arriving in time for appetizers from the "nines" which most know is something not to be missed! So we will definately plan the ride with ample time to get to Guntersville. This will be a great opportunity to take a late year ride, help these kids and take in the club Christmas party!! Who could ask for more than that???

This is a great opportunity to support the children's home that is funded wholly by church and private donations. If you have not ever made this ride and this event...I urge everyone to do so. I guarantee your personal witness to the work done here will warm your heart!

Let's pull together for this cause and show the kids that Alabeemers can raise a lot of money! If you cannot make the ride and would like to send a donation directly, please do. Like last year, I will be glad to take donations for those who cannot make the ride. Just put your donation in an envelope and get it to me. I will drop all of our donations in the fish bowl on arrival!

Anyone interested in going can post here or send me an email with any questions. I will post finalized details here very soon!

For the last few years I have been riding up with a group that meets at one of our member's business at the Parkland Shopping Center in Jasper . (HWY 118, formerly called the US 78 and 7th Ave., there is a Captain D's on one side of the road and Kentucky Fried and Papa John's on the other) Steve Odom owns the Beauren Book Store and has been helping organize the ride up for some time. We usually meet up with another group that rides over from Sumiton.
I'll post specifics later when Steve puts it in the paper.

Jeff, Steve Odom and Greg Clark are both very active members of our Benefit Team and do a great job in Walker County.... they will again leave the Beauren Book Store in the Parkland Shopping Center and have a POLICE/SHERIFF escorted ride to Eldridge...

For a printable flyer go to www.eldridgetoyrun.com and then look for the Flyer tab and open Jasper Flyer.

Greg Clark will start a Police/Sheriff Escorted ride in Sumiton at Wal-Mart/ALFA office and meet with Steve in Jasper...In the Flyer tab open Sumiton Flyer...

Also Vance and team usually "just ride in" non-escorted ride and they select there route and manner of travel....

Looking forward to seeing you again in Eldridge..

Again this year we plan on starting to feed the "just ride in" folks along with the kids, antique car club members about 11:30.....

Most of the escorted rides arrive from 11:30 to 12:15 PM....

We have our new pavilion up and inplace instead of the "rented tents" , this pavilion was our benefit's team dream project when we first started. A multi-purpose -open air/closed air type functional building that the children can use during the rainy days (plenty of them lately) and the building can be used for other gathering and benefits to fund the home.

I rode the route today from Eldridge to Guntersville via Corridor X , 69, CR 565 to 91, 278, 78 and 227 to the Park..... 110 miles... no sweat, couple hours...

Check my SPOT for the route too!
