I just got this information from Justin at Pandora's in Chattanooga. This event is planned for July 10 and sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Justin is working really hard to produce events that are fun as well as promoting his dealership.
Unfortunately I will be headed west toward the MOA rally this day or I would be there. Take a look at the event sheet copy below and let's see if we can't get a good AL club showing up there. There will be several clubs represented around the region and I would sure like to bring the "Cup" home to Alabama!
2010 PANDORA’S BMW RIDER’S CLUB INVITATIONAL
Hello Everyone,
I’d like to take this opportunity to announce a special Riding Event being hosted by Pandora’s on Saturday July 10th. This event is the first of its kind to be held in any region. The object is to bring together the BMW Riding Clubs from the Southern Region and give them the opportunity to see our
shop and experience some of the best riding roads in the southern region (and also get some competition in as well). This is also a FREE event, there are no registration fees, and breakfast and lunch are included.
I also want to give every one of our customers and future customers the opportunity to get out on the road with BMW enthusiasts, rub elbows with them back at the shop, and see first hand how tight knight and supportive the community is. This event is not exclusively for club members or BMW
owners! All riders are welcome and encouraged!!
The invited clubs include:
BMW Riders Club of Knoxville http://www.bmwrok.org/
BMW Riders Club of Alabama http://www.bmwmoal.org/
BMW Riders Club of Georgia http://www.bmwmoga.info/
BMW Riders Club of Nashville http://bmwmcon.org/
BMW Riders Club of Chattanooga TBA
The Event guidelines are as follows:
Route lists for each club will be distributed the morning of registration, there will be a flag planted on each route. GPS Coordinates of the location for each flag will be included on the route list. If a particular club does not have a navigation unit amongst them it is not a problem. A Pandora’s
representative will ride with that club on a navigation equipped machine.
The clubs will all depart the shop parking lot at the same time and leave on their respective routes. The first club to return with it flag will be crowned the victor and win the 2010 cup!
Any participants who are not members of the above mentioned clubs that would like to participate will default to the riding club team of their choice (example, My Father will be riding with Knoxville Club, simply because they have bought more bikes from us than any other club to date., yes we can all
tease him about this).
Our local riding expert and GS Training Coach Rick Trimble has put together 5 outstanding street routes for each club to ride. Each route is approximately 100 miles in length and roughly 3 hours in duration. The winning club (first back in the parking lot with their flag- entire club) will receive the
‘Pandora’s BMW Riders Club Cup’ which they will be able to host in their club house or with their Club President for the next year, until the 2011 Invitational Event.
An itinerary of July 10th:
8:00am Breakfast (donuts & coffee) and Registration (Club members will be given colored armbands as well as nametags the morning of registration. Please park your motorcycle with your club in your respective designated parking areas- I will have them clearly marked.)
9:00am Rider’s meeting with Rick Trimble and Justin Prann
9:30am Kickstands up, clubs depart on their respective routes
Noon Complimentary burgers, brats, and sodas will be coming off the grill as the clubs start returning from the routes.
I know a Saturday 8am check in is ambitious for riders coming in from upwards of three hours away, and that is why we have arranged for special rates for the evening of July 9th at the Hilton Garden downtown (311 Chestnut St. Tel: 423-308-9000), mention Pandora’s European Motorsports for the special rate of $119 a night.
This is a perfect opportunity to spend quality time with your club members and meet other BMW Enthusiasts from across the southern region. Not to mention ride some of the best roads in the country, right here in your own backyard!
To pre-register for the event simply send me an email with your name, club affiliation, and bike you will be riding. Walk on riders are welcome the day of the event as well.
